AK44 Betting Odds: Decimal Odds Explained
Quick Summary
- A decimal price is the full amount back for each 1 Taka staked, stake included.
- For implied probability, divide 1 by the price and show it as a percentage.
- Bookmaker prices add up to more than 100%; the excess is the margin.
- Odds describe a price, not a forecast you can rely on.
Every bet starts with a price, and reading that price properly is the most useful skill in sports betting. This checklist explains decimal odds, how to work out your return, how to convert odds into an implied probability and how to spot the bookmaker's margin. The examples use simple Taka amounts so you can check them on a calculator. Open the AK44 sportsbook to see which odds format is shown on your account.
Before you start: decimal odds
Decimal odds are the most common format in South Asia. The number shows your total return for each 1 Taka staked, including the stake itself.
To find your return, multiply the stake by the odds. To find your profit, subtract the stake.
- Odds 2.00, stake ৳100: return ৳200, profit ৳100.
- Odds 1.50, stake ৳100: return ৳150, profit ৳50.
- Odds 4.00, stake ৳100: return ৳400, profit ৳300.
Implied probability
Implied probability turns odds into the chance the price suggests. Divide 1 by the decimal odds, then multiply by 100.
Comparing implied probability with your own view of an event is the basis of thoughtful betting. If you cannot explain why your view differs from the price, skip the bet.
| Decimal odds | Implied probability | Return on ৳100 |
|---|---|---|
| 1.25 | 80% | ৳125 |
| 1.50 | 66.7% | ৳150 |
| 2.00 | 50% | ৳200 |
| 3.00 | 33.3% | ৳300 |
| 5.00 | 20% | ৳500 |
| 10.00 | 10% | ৳1,000 |
The bookmaker margin
Add the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market. For a fair coin priced honestly, the total would be 100%. Bookmaker prices add up to more than that. The extra is the margin, and it is how the sportsbook makes money over time.
Example: a match priced at 1.90 for each of two players. Each implies 52.6%, so the total is 105.2%. The margin is about 5.2%.
- Lower margins mean prices are closer to fair.
- Margins are usually wider on niche markets and long accumulators.
- Comparing the total across markets shows where margins are highest.
Watch out: long odds and accumulators
Long odds pay well because the outcome is unlikely. An accumulator multiplies odds across legs, but it also multiplies the margin. A five-leg accumulator can carry a much larger built-in edge than a single bet.
For cricket-specific prices, including session and over markets, read cricket odds.
- Prefer singles while you are learning.
- Check what each leg's implied probability really means.
- Never treat a short price as a 'sure' result.
Reading odds on AK44

Common questions
What does odds of 2.50 mean?
Odds of 2.50 mean each 1 Taka staked returns 2.50 Taka if the bet wins, including your stake. A ৳100 bet returns ৳250, which is ৳150 profit. The implied probability is 1 divided by 2.50, or 40%.
How do I calculate implied probability?
Take 1, divide it by the price, then times the result by 100. Odds of 4.00 give 25%. This shows the chance the price suggests, before you account for the bookmaker's margin.
What is the bookmaker margin?
It is the amount by which the implied probabilities of all outcomes add up to more than 100%. The margin is the sportsbook's built-in edge. It is usually lower on popular markets and higher on niche or combined bets.
Are short odds safe bets?
No bet is safe. Short odds mean the outcome is considered likely, but favourites lose regularly. Staking large amounts on short odds to win a little can lead to big losses when an upset happens.
Can I change the odds format on AK44?
We could not confirm the formats AK44 offers. Look in the sportsbook settings or on the bet slip after logging in. If decimal odds are available, they are the easiest to use with the examples on this page.
